As a native of Rantoul, Illinois, Dan's journey began at the University of Illinois, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics before embarking on a distinguished 24-year career in the U.S. Navy. During his tenure, Dan amassed an impressive record, including deployments, combat missions, and earning a Master of Science degree in Financial Management.
Transitioning from military service, Dan applied his leadership skills in the corporate sector, notably with General Electric, before assuming the role of Executive Director at the Port of Anacortes. There, he oversaw diverse operations, including the renowned Cap Sante Marina and the Anacortes Airport.
In 2024, Dan assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer at Camp Korey, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children and families facing life-altering medical conditions. Committed to Camp Korey's mission, Dan fosters a culture of empowerment, diversity, and camaraderie, embodying the values he holds dear.
